Case in point, Dan.
My friend who went to a private Catholic high school, Dan was about 5'5, dressed with a mix of punk and 1950's. He was Duckie before Pretty In Pink came out. (Minus the infatuation)
We had the same quirky taste in music which ranged from The Smiths and The Violent Femmes to Shirley Temple and Donny Osmond.
Dan and I went between hanging out, going to high school dances as friends to maybe there's romance here? The problem-Whenever I felt more like friends, he was in the romance department and vice versa. There was so much talking and nothing more than that ever.
"Dan and I went to the library tonight. I think we're going to have a great relationship! We worked our life problems out! I really like him and he told me the same."
Now that's all well and good and you might think it best to leave it alone. WRONG
It's best to push it.
And here's why: In the next picture, see how it starts "What a stupid day!!" immediately followed up by "Reb and I had a Super day!"?
Feelings can change on a dime people.
That's why a follow up note out asking him to "call after school and tell me you feel the same." is a must.
And when he doesn't call-that means he does not feel the same.
Hmmm
Leave it at that? WRONG
You call HIM.
That way you can hear it from him that "he doesn't! feel the same, that he just has a crush on me and he wants to go out with someone he really likes!"
Don't let this get you down high school junior, it's only November. We have time.
